Public Speaking & Conference Hosting
Nick is experienced at speaking and hosting corporate and educational events. He delivers keynote speeches on a range of subject matters and can lead and moderate on panels using the skills he’s built up over decades of interviewing high profile guests. He is able to adapt to different subects and settings as required with confidence and knowledge. Nick’s delighted to have been invited to speak at the International Government Communication Forum in Sharjah to help media professionals from around the region learn how modern journalism in the field works. Mobile Journalism
Nick has been instrumental in the take-up and roll-out of “MoJo” at the BBC which allows reporters to gather and broadcast their own footage and audio on small ‘mobile’ devices such as phones. He pioneered many of the workflows and technologies that now let reporters work independently on some stories and he’s shown it in action by broadcasting live, on his own, from some of the most difficult countries in the world to work in.

Nick’s company, mediamouth Ltd, provides technical support and knowledge to the broadcast industry around the world. He has a huge amount of knowledge – from podcast conception to full production. He is one of the industry’s leading experts on live streaming capability for Radio, TV and the conference industry. mediamouth Ltd supplies equipment for hire and purchase at short notice around the world.

On Air
Reporting
Nick is a freelance reporter across Radio, TV and Online. He’s just delivered the BBC Radio 4 Documentary “I fought In Ukraine” ahead of time and under budget. He’s now working on another commission for the BBC Radio 4 documentary series “Currently”. He’s deployable at short notice around the world and the UK. He’s fully BBC trained in Hostile Environment work and has reported from many of the most dangerous countries in the world. He is equally at home packaging as when he’s live reporting from location. In terms of awards, Nick’s won Gold at both the Sony’s and the New York Radio Awards as well as winning a BBC News Award for his work on the terrorist attacks in Europe. He has also been presented with The Royal Society Radio Prize by the Association of British Science Wrtiers. He has presented live radio shows on Radio 5 Live, the news and sport network of the BBC, including the business programme, “Wake Up To Money” and “Up All Night”.
Writing
Nick’s currently working on two books about working at an international level in the media and the way the industry has developed over the last five decades. He’s also launching a Substack about his life in broadcasting. Click on the link at the bottom of the page to sign up.
Podcasts
Nick has written, presented and produced a large number of podcasts for BBC Sounds including “Searching For Salah” which tracked the influence and power of one of the world’s most famous footballers. Nick’s also made dozens of news podcasts for BBC Sounds whilst covering breaking and developing stories around the world.
